Create a beautiful mosaic masterpiece with broken dishes in the French style of “Pique Asiette” (broken plate). Combining cut pieces of thrifted ceramic and porcelain dishes and traditional mosaic tiles, you’ll create an original work of art that you can proudly display in your home or give as a gift.
In this workshop, you will learn about the art of mosaic and how to lay down individual tiles to create a cohesive design.
You’ll be provided with all necessary supplies:
Your choice of an 8-inch square- or heart-shaped wood base;
Broken dish pieces in various colors & styles;
Ceramic tiles in a variety of shapes;
Wheeled nippers (for cutting and shaping tiles)
Mosaic glue;
and more.
Your moasic tiles need time to cure before they can be grouted, so the instructors will grout your project after the workshop. You’ll need to return a few days later to pick up the finished project.
This workshop is open to crafters 16+.
