Duration: 2 hours
Ages: 16 and older
Led by: Isabel Bailey (@infinityheartsgifts)
Give your front door a little personality! In this fun, hands-on workshop, Isabel Bailey from Infinity Hearts Gifts (@infinityheartsgifts), will teach you how to create a custom hand-painted coir doormat using a vinyl stencil, paint, and easy-to-follow techniques. You'll also learn the basics of weeding your own vinyl stencil before applying it to your mat.
Choose one of four designs and leave with the satisfaction of creating a doormat that's sure to welcome guests with style (and maybe a little sass!).
When you register, please choose the ticket that corresponds to the design and mat shape you’d like to work with. Choose one of these four designs:
Yes, Amazon, This House Again (rectangular or half round)
We're Probably Pretending Not to Be Home (rectangular only)
Home, with a crab design (rectangular or half round)
Beware of Dog He (or She) Is Super Judgmental (rectangular only)
No experience is required, although some familiarity with vinyl weeding is helpful. Isabel will guide you through every step, making this a fun and rewarding project for crafters of all skill levels.
Class includes:
One 18”x30” beige natural coir doormat (rectangular or half round)
Your choice of one of four pre-cut vinyl stencil designs
All paints, tools, and supplies including gloves, paintbrushes, painters tape, paper plates and newspaper
Instruction on weeding, stencil application, and painting
A professionally sealed finish with a clear acrylic spray to help protect your design and reduce fading
Please note:
Wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on.
Because your doormat needs time to dry and will be sealed with a clear acrylic protective finish, it will not be ready to take home at the end of class. Pickup instructions will be provided during the workshop.
Registration for this workshop will close a week before so don't wait to sign up!
This workshop is open to crafters 16 and older.
