Get into the holiday spirit by creating a charming one-of-a-kind fabric Christmas tree. In this beginner-friendly workshop led by Maria Hernandez (@scientistquilter), you'll transform colorful fabric scraps into a beautiful dimensional tree using simple folded fabric techniques layered over a cone-shaped base. Each tree is uniquely decorated, making it a perfect seasonal decoration or handmade gift.
Participants will learn how to:
Fold and layer fabric to create a textured tree design
Arrange colors and prints for a cohesive look
Add decorative toppers, ribbons, bells, stars, or other embellishments
Finish a sturdy, freestanding holiday decoration (approximately 10 to 12 inches tall)
This workshop is great for beginners! No sewing is required. All materials — including fabric, cones, pins, and embellishments — will be provided. Feel free to bring sentimental fabric or holiday prints to make your tree even more personal.
By the end of class, you'll take home a handcrafted keepsake that's perfect for mantels, tabletops, office décor, or holiday gift-giving.
Gather your friends and enjoy an evening of creativity while making a festive decoration you'll treasure year after year. This relaxing and creative workshop is perfect for crafters of all skill levels and a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season.
This workshop is open to crafters ages 18 and older.
